| Prayer Shawl Ministry Our Mission Statement CUMC Prayer Shawls are sacramental gifts for times of grief, illness, & other life challenges to provide comfort, hope, healing & peace through our blessings & prayers & God's love through our hands. The creation of this team came about when a CUMC member learned of a friend who received one upon the death of her husband from her church group. Realizing our congregation was certain to have people experiencing loss and illness and knowing many enjoy knitting & crocheting, this Team was organized in January 2006. We meet on the 3rd Wednesday of most months (not June, August or December) at 5:30 PM in room B7 for approximately 1 hour. At that time we pray over shawls that are going out to specific people, share information of others who may be in need and simply work on our projects. |
