“CALLED TO BE A CHURCH OF BLESSING”
Worship is job one for a Christian. Countryside is known for its inspiring music worship, and our clergy are committed to bringing positive messages that apply scriptures to life in relevant, life affirming ways. The congregation at worship seeks to extend a spirit of welcome.
The Countryside congregation is blessed with a rich diversity of individual talent and giftedness at work and in leadership in many workplaces and settings in the Topeka area. Our congregation can make a difference as we are empowered in workplace leadership as our Christian vocation. Countryside also has opportunity to create strategies for leadership development for our church ministries and programs that would include motivation, recruitment, training, and support.
Supportive & Welcoming RELATIONSHIPS
A well-defined strength at Countryside attributed by members, visitors and newcomers alike is the friendly atmosphere and welcoming culture. Maintaining, developing and networking caring relationships is a priority for our vitality. Ongoing development of small group life as well as organized ministries of support to members in their life journey is essential.
Connecting with and living by the Spirit is the source of all vitality for Countryside UMC. Our congregation is blessed with a depth of spirituality expressed in witness, service and leadership. We also have great opportunity to empower all persons to explore their faith and grow in their God-given spirituality. This includes the development of a comprehensive discipleship system for children, youth and adult Christian formation and education.
Generous Missional OUTREACH
Countryside UMC was started as a missional church over 60 years ago and has an inherent DNA that includes mission and outreach to the community. As a whole, our Countryside congregation is blessed with financial abundance and a culture of giving that is faithful and responsible in stewardship. We have great opportunity to continue to develop our financial generosity through creative stewardship and endowment strategies. We are challenged to continue to develop a generous and diverse missional response to human need in our city, nation and world.
